In August 2020, we open an additional Primary/EYFS campus, while continuing to provide a K1-Y13 education from our existing site. We currently educate 250 under-fives and from August, parents will benefit from a choice between our existing and our new, purpose-built, campus. This is an exciting stage of development for our School, as we look to build on our reputation as the first-choice international school in Guangzhou. Assistant Heads will be based in both sites and will liaise, with colleagues, across campuses to ensure a consistent approach to delivering our curriculum and to guide our overall strategic direction within Guangzhou.
They will have excellent people skills and be able to inspire and demonstrate the drive and commitment to make our very good school even better. In addition, they will need to be able to liaise with colleagues, in our sister school in Guangzhou, to guide an overall strategic direction across The British School.
The successful applicant will be an effective professional with a thorough knowledge of the UK Early Years Foundation Stage framework and relevant teaching experience. You will be expected to carry out assessment procedures for your subject area and be instrumental in maintaining or improving our excellent levels of student attainment and progress. Amongst other things, you will be well organised, have a good sense of humour and be driven to improve and develop the school.
Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate confidently to diverse audiences, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. To meet visa-related expectations, you will need to hold a bachelor degree together with a PGCE and QTS qualification; and have a minimum of five years relevant experience for this key leadership role. In fulfilling the requirements of the post, you will demonstrate essential professional characteristics, and in particular will:

- Be familiar with using technology, including IWBs, to improve teaching and learning.
