Main Purpose of the Role

 As ICT Teacher in Primary, you design and deliver computer science-based ICT lessons. Leader in technology, you will develop units which lead to the creation of projects and games whilst teaching students crucial IT skills and internet safety along the way.   

In this role you teach many different classes and therefore are highly organized and develop positive student-teacher relationships quickly.  


 Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote the school values RISE, the Golden Rules and ‘Good to be Green’ our Positive Discipline approach;
  • Connect our computer science-based ICT curriculum to our Nord Anglia STEAM initiative;
  • Strive to develop the computer lab to make it an innovative space for learning;
  • Identify clear teaching objectives and specify their teaching and evaluation methods;
  • Define tasks that center on content creation and robotics that stimulate students and ensure a high level of interest;
  • Provide structured lessons by maintaining a stable pace, motivation and stimulation;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing Professional Development:
    • Evaluate one’s own teaching to improve its effectiveness 
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest technology skills, STEAM, online safety information and computer science content for primary aged students
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver coherent units of work as part of a progressive school-wide Computer Science Curriculum
  • Communicate and consult with parents as appropriate.


Skills and Competencies 

To fulfil this role, you need to demonstrate:

  • Strong ICT skills with Apple products  
  • Knowledge of computer science, STEAM, internet safety and robotics   
  • Good interpersonal skills 
  • Team spirit and involvement, flexibility 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Good organization  
  • Open-minded, creative and enthusiastic


Languages required: English mother tongue, fluency in French will be an advantage
