MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Masters degree required
  • Preferred: Principal Certification and/or Leadership Coursework/Training

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a  successful leader within schools
  • Experience in collaboration with senior management teams, faculty, parents and wider community groups and agencies
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in an American curriculum school
  • Experience in a culturally diverse school environment (preferably in international schools)
  • Proven record of success as a classroom teacher

 

Skillset

  • Ability to articulate the Mission, Vision, and Values of the school and Nord Anglia Education, both verbally and in writing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum and instruction with the ability to function as a strong curriculum leader and student achievement advocate
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to manage, delegate, mentor, coach and inspire others
  • Ability to align resource expenditures with stated academic priorities
  • An understanding of Human Resources principles, procedures, and practices
  • Ability to foster and maintain a positive school climate
  • Attentive to habits of mind, data driven decision-making, accountability, conflict resolution, and team building.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote a school culture which is supportive, collegial, collaborative, and reflects high morale
  • Serve as the instructional leader for the respective division and organize professional development aimed at continuous growth and improvement
  • Oversee the observations, evaluations and efforts of the Middle School leadership team and all members of the Middle School faculty and staff
  • Guide the alignment of the school mission, school goals, division goals, department goals, course objectives, materials, methods and means of instruction and assessment
  • Lead a school culture and environment that successfully develops the full range of students’ learning capacities – academic, creative, social-emotional, behavioral, and physical
  • Actively participate in the admission and retention of students, and the hiring, retention, and assignments of faculty within division
  • Develop a comprehensive calendar of school events for all co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, programs, assemblies, presentations and meetings within the division
  • Gather, analyze and report on key performance metrics within divison such as Measure of Academic Progress (MAP), Culture of Thinking, Nord Anglia Education proramming, internal assessments, and report cards
  • Provide leadership in developing and maintaining the daily academic, budgetary, extra-curricular, and co-curricular programs of the division
  • Serve as the liaison between the Directors of Operation and Maintenance, Food Services, and Transportation and the faculty and staff of respective
  • Other duties as prescribed by the Assistant Headmaster.
