Department: Operations

Global Programme Director

Location: London

Bucksmore Education is a leading provider of academic short courses for international students of all ages. Established in 1979, Bucksmore has grown rapidly in the past few years, and in ‘non-Covid’ years we would expect to welcome over 3,500 students to the UK throughout the year.

The Role

Bucksmore was acquired by Nord Anglia Education in April 2021. The Global Programme Director (GPD) is a new senior leadership position within Bucksmore, with responsibility for delivering new summer and other school holiday programmes in Nord Anglia schools across the world. These in-country camps are a new business proposition for Bucksmore, and a key area of growth within the Nord Anglia global network of schools.

The GPD will be responsible for creating a new business model within Bucksmore to deliver these courses outside of the UK. This covers everything from establishing P&L agreements & financial structures with each school, to working closely with individual schools to market and promote each of the different courses. The GPD will also assume full responsibility for the operations and successful delivery of all global programmes.

In FY22 Bucksmore aims to deliver courses in Europe, India, China, and the USA. The GDP will also be expected to identify new opportunities within the NAE school network, and maintain regular contact with all school regions to grow the non-UK business element of Bucksmore Education.

This is a new department, and additional operational / administrative resources will be added throughout the year as required if targets are met. The GDP is expected to leverage existing resources within Bucksmore and NAE schools as much as possible to create, promote, sell, and run all programmes across the world.

The Successful Candidate will possess:

  • Experience working in international education, ideally within summer schools and year-round international schools
  • Proof of developing and managing a global network of contacts within the international education sector
  • Experience of delivering short academic programmes, ideally outside of the UK

This is an ideal opportunity for a driven individual to grow a new department within a leading UK summer school business, and within the leading provider of international  schools across the world. It requires a wide range of skills to grow a new arm of the business, and will initially need oversight of all areas from finance to sales and marketing, as well as knowledge of HR and operational delivery of premium summer courses.
