About the role

We are looking to appoint an ambitious, forward thinking and innovative practitioner to play a key role as part of the leadership team at BSB Sanlitun. The Assistant Headteacher will take a central role, assisting the Principal and Head of Primary to develop our school in accordance with our shared values and school development plans. You will work in collaboration with the leadership team to nurture, promote and maintain high standards of behaviour and foster mutual respect throughout the school ensuring that all staff play an active role in the pursuit of these standards.  As our next Assistant Headteacher you will help to ensure that there is a very safe, secure, effective and pleasing environment for all members of our school family.  The Assistant Headteacher will be a model professional setting an excellent example in actively and demonstrably promoting enrichment, entitlement and achievement through building and implementing agreed school policies. You will be well organised and proactive and help to secure the smooth running of the school. You will have opportunities to lead, coach and support colleagues and develop training opportunities to suit the needs of individuals, teams or the whole Primary School.   The Assistant Headteacher will be class based (but with a reduced timetable) and will model good practice, promoting high expectations for our students. 

 

About you

Our next Assistant Headteacher will be a dynamic, inspirational and experienced middle leader or senior leader who can motivate learners and colleagues with their passion for lifelong learning. You will be able to communicate a clear vision, show strong leadership and have effective management skills.  It is essential that you are an enthusiastic and committed leader able to manage and motivate children and staff and deliver both high support and high challenge.   Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will possess a university degree, a recognised teaching qualification and considerable teaching experience. Committed and creative, you will be reflective and keen to implement new ideas and innovative methods to enhance educational experiences.  Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school.  You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with staff, parents and students. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for China including satisfactory criminal record checks from both Country of residence/birth and any Country of residence within the last 10 years. You will foster an environment of respect within the school, modelling and encouraging our ‘Be Kind’ philosophy for all; being highly emotionally intelligent is crucial so that you can develop relationships between all members of our school community.

Selection Process

Closing date: 30th Apr 2021   

Due to global travel restrictions, all interviews will be conducted via MS Teams.  There will be three stages of interview, including a panel interview.  

 

Start Date: August 2021
