About Nord Anglia School Guangzhou, Panyu:

Opening in September 2020, Nord Anglia School Guangzhou, Panyu (NAS Guanghzou, Panyu) will provide a state of the art, world-class learning and teaching environment with a total student capacity of 1,800 and a boarding capacity of 880 for students aged 6-15. Providing a unique blended learning experience, NAS Guanghzou, Panyu will offer students the best of Eastern and Western education resources and philosophies. About the role:

This Music and Performing Arts Teacher position requires the ability, expertise and training to teach music across primary to middle school. Additional experience or training in high school and related areas of the performing arts (music/drama/dance and design technologies) and ESL in the Mainstream or its equivalent will also be considered a plus. Teaching duties will include classroom music teaching across multiple programme levels and ensemble music performance planning, preparation and direction. The incumbent is an experienced music educator including music technologies and a recognized choral/orchestral/instrumental ensemble educator and conductor. 

Knowledge and understanding:

Either

A) Have a detailed knowledge and understanding for the Chinese Music and Performing Arts and has a qualification certificate issued by Department of National Education Under the guidance of China's New National Curriculum Standards, Chinese Music and Performing Arts Education teachers must make major changes in teaching concepts and teaching methods. They must guide students to learn in practice, learn with individuality, focus on enriching and integrating teaching materials, pay attention on cultivating students’ learning interest and transforming student’s learning methods, by encouraging students’ cooperative learning, to achieve mutual knowledge exchanges

Or

B) Have a detailed knowledge of the subject of Music in school curriculum and assessment across primary and secondary levels with experience in national or international curriculum (such as CNC, IPC, IMYC, PYP/MYP/IBDP; IGCSE, British NC or similar)

Knowledge of technology related music classroom (Sibelius/Garage band/composition programmes)

Knowledgeable and skilled ensemble educator and leader with choral/instrumental conducting skills

Able to guide and support student creative arts subject-related questions and facilitate inquiry-based learning in their specialist subject(s)

Knowledge and understanding for curriculum and assessment development in Music and the Performing Arts.

You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Guangzhou, China, including

- At least Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching qualification

- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience

- International teaching experience

- Experience in a bilingual language learning environment

- ESL in the Mainstream certification or equivalent

Selection Process:

The closing date for application is February 1, 2022. Due to global travel restrictions, all interviews will be conducted via MS Teams or online video calls.  There will be three stages of interview, including a panel interview.
