Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong is a highly successful, school with a committed and inspirational team of teaching professionals at its heart. We are a close-knit community educating around 500 students representing over 50 nationalities. We are a high achieving international school where our results have continued to improve year on year across every Key Stage. We are non-selective and yet, in June 2020, we achieved 73% A*/A grades. Our Year 13 IB Diploma students achieved an average of 37 points, and 50% of our students achieved 40+ points. These levels of attainment have been consistent for over six years. Global academic results

The 2020-2021 school year was the strongest ever in terms of Nord Anglia Education’s academic results. For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, our students achieved a 36.2 global point average and a 98% pass rate, with over 20 students earning a perfect score of 45. In the A-levels, our students achieved 65.4% of grades at A*-A, along with 83.7% at A*-B, with a group-wide pass rate of 99.4% and seven schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate. In this year’s I/GCSE results, 59.6% of students achieved A*-A grades, with a group-wide pass rate of 89.5% and 13 Nord Anglia schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate.

           

About the role

Join our fast-paced international environment, and you will deliver UK National Curriculum across all primary ages. In addition to primary music an ability to teach KS3 would be a distinct advantage. You will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves and seek out and use innovative teaching practices to enhance our students’ experiences and outcomes. A key aspect of the role is the involvement in the schools after school music programme.


About you

With the ability to create a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved, you will have a university degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification plus considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers.


A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement, and personal investment within the classroom. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for China, including holding a bachelor’s degree, and have a minimum of two years teaching experience post qualifying.

Selection process

The closing date for applications is 31 March 2022, though we shall be conducting interviews on a rolling basis and reserve the right to make an appointment before the deadline.  Due to global travel restrictions, all interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams/video call.
