As a full boarding school, our staff are involved in all aspects of school life, sharing time in the classroom, in the boarding houses, out on the mountain and travelling the world. You may find yourself teaching an IBDP class in the morning, helping to staff one of our amazing expeditions in the afternoon, or accompanying a group to surf in Bali during the holiday period.

Your Profile

Are you passionate and enthusiastic about the study of behaviour and mental processes? Do you aim to give the students you teach a greater understanding of themselves and a deeper appreciation of the diversity of human behaviour?

Would you love to lead a field trip to a cultural melting pot such as New York to help develop an understanding of how psychological knowledge is generated, developed and applied and are you equally at home advising a Grade 12 IB student on the fine tuning of their Internal Assessment?

Do you have a holistic approach to teaching psychology with biological, cognitive and sociocultural analysis, teaching it in an integrated way which ensures that students are able to develop an understanding of what all humans share, as well as the immense diversity of influences on human behaviour and mental processes.

Do you want to spend winter in a Swiss ski resort? Being part of a boarding school allows opportunities to share experiences and enthusiasm with students inside and outside the classroom, and you will be keen to see education as something deeper than just lessons or a syllabus.

With the opportunity to work within a creative and forwardlooking Humanities faculty, this post is perfect for teachers who are passionate about their subject, enjoy engagement with young people, keen to share ideas, learn from others and who set the highest expectations of themselves and their classes.

As a qualified teacher you will be a fluent English speaker, familiar with the IBDP curriculum and confident working with students from diverse backgrounds. You will be an excellent communicator and confident with technology; someone who gets on well with colleagues, students and parents. Amongst other things, you’ll be well organised, have a good sense of humour and will want to participate fully in the extracurricular aspects of school life including the boarding house as well as the classroom. We have a comprehensive learning programme that includes Saturday morning academics and exciting challenges ranging from climbing 4000m peaks to night time ski racing
