We are seeking to create a talent pool of outstanding Teaching Assistants and Student Support Assistants to fill vacancies as they arise throughout the academic year 2019-20.

The role of the Teaching Assistant is a vital one at BIS Abu Dhabi and is designed to support teachers in helping children to overcome barriers to learning. TA’s will normally work within the classroom and may work with individual children, small groups or the whole class. They may also be called upon to support children who have learning or behavioural difficulties and those with English as an additional language.

The Student Support Assistant role consists of supporting the inclusion of students who may have English language difficulties, social, emotional or behavioural difficulties or other academic educational needs. SSAs will normally work with individual students, helping the student learn as effectively as possible both in group and individual situations. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree level education (desirable)
  • Background in teaching (desirable)
  • High level of international and inter-cultural understanding (essential)
  • High level of fluency in written and spoken English (essential)

Selection Process
