Applications are invited from enthusiastic, qualified and experienced teachers. A minimum of three years recent experience of teaching Mandarin to GCSE/IGCSE and either A level or the IB Diploma programme is essential. The Chinese Department is a part of a very vibrant and creative MFL Department at BIS, where French and Spanish are also offered to students. Collaboration and cooperation amongst students and staff are key to its success. Lessons are lively and communicative. Teachers use a significant amount of the target language and students are very responsive and open to using foreign languages.
